When do you think the U.S. Government really started to protect its own power instead of the constitution and the people?

I don’t mean instances, i mean when did they really drop the mask and go all in on your mind?

Lincoln was the first biggest move away from rule of law

FDR cowed the Court and basically completed the transition away from the written Constitution
