Have wanted to do a darkness retreat for a while. Was in desparate need of one in fall of 22. Now my mind is a lot more quite. Thankfully.

It makes me remember a poem I some mix media art I created in the summer of 2020. California was a chimney for weeks and much of my time I spent indoors without electricity for prolonged period of time. It was quite an intense time for the collective.
Here it is:

There's light at the end of the tunnel...
Remember that.
You will not forever walk in the darkness.
If you so chose...
...to fully surrender, trust and embrace your stance.
And as you resolve to align, stand strong, center, and your eyes begin adjusting to see in the dark.
Know that you are powerful.
Step lightly, gently, gracefully, yet steady.
Reclaim your power.
Embody your powerful soul fully.
What is lurking there in the dark that you fear?
Be with that.
Fully.
All the way.
Face the shadows.
Breathe in. And relax. Relax into being here present fully.
Breathe in deeply. Let the tension dissolve within.
Breathe my love.
Embody your power.
Become present.
Feel the fears.
Embrace all your fears. More deeply. Completely.
And the biggest of them all.
That of dying.
That deeply seeded fear... of death.
Release it all. Embrace the destiny to which all life will eventually return.
Can you keep walking, dissolving all fear within your being? Aware. Wide awake.
Open the doors and enter into all these dimensions of your psyche.
There is light at the end of the tunnel.
And death hearself is a beautiful portal.
Light and stoke the fire of your hearth.
Let the sacred Christ Light flame within your heart burn bright. Brighter. Ever so bright.
Let it guide your way.
Trust. Embrace. Surrender.
