Do I have to enable something to see profile and note zaps on Snort.social? I sent 69 (*nice meme*) sats to Snowden's profile but it didn't show up.

It also will show "Send Zap" on snort pop up so you know when it's supported

A zap is a lightning payment where you get a receipt on nostr, clients can then display totals

Is there a cryptographic proof involved that allows clients to verify the receipt?

There is a proof that the lnurl service says that it was paid, you need to trust those services not to create fake zap receipts there is no concrete proof of payment in LN
