If on Nostr it's "not about the number of people that follow you" and "follower counts aren't real anyways...

Why does every app have a list of followers, and a number that's not even accurate?

As a low tech person in this space, I appreciate the lists because I like being able to look at the people following me. I may like what they have to say or I may not agree with their rhetoric. This helps me know if I want to interact with them or mute. I just wish they were more accurate.

A better replacement would be a list of people who you interact with/who interact with you, through comments, zaps, and reactions. "Connections" instead of "Followers". I hope more apps add something like this.
