There's actually a practical example of this. Japan is known for presenting small portions on small plates. The obesity rate in Japan is 3.5% as compared with America's 30%. Japan also has longer life expectancy which I believe hasn't changed much and America's is declining even from where it was before.

You know, I never really wanted to leave the USA but the situation of food and public health in this country is so awful that I've been tempted. But then you get into a different problem of where you might go that isn't even worse. The rest of the first world simply has different problems but none are on what I'd call a good path.

yeah i am not looking to leave US anymore.

English is a big deal. I can learn a foreign language but nobody else will. Who will want to learn Japanese for example ? Because nobody will ever learn Japanese that limits who will do business in Japan and thus puts a limit on Japanese ecocnomy.

Everybody knows English so anybody can come to US and do business here. This is huge.

only China can compete with US because there are as many people who speak Chinese as there are people who speak English. they don't need foreigners because they have enough of their own people.

Japan, Germany and Korea are knee-capped by their language. Britain is 2nd richest country in Europe after Germany because of English language.

and if we look at English speaking countries - US, UK, Australia and New Zealand - then US wins rather easily. it is bigger, richer and free-er than the other 3.

yes NZ has better climate and no blacks but it's so far away from everything that recently they had to ground a flight because it was illegal to work the crew as long as the flight from NZ takes. fuck that.
