The freedom protocol doesn’t need a character limit. Clients can solve this by limiting what’s shown on screen and allow the note to be expanded.

Kind of agree and ALSO hope that people don't abuse it - much like speech itself I guess.
Sometimes I just have to use more than x characters, and sometimes not. Nice to have the choice...
