This. In the worst case, donate the excess compute/storage resources to foldingathome or similar.

The problem is that it's quite noisy for an home environment and I suppose that the power consumption is not so modest.

I don't want to trash it, maybe I can setup it and gift to a school.

I have mine in the garage for this exact reason. 😅 but gifting it to a school is a good idea!
