Would love some opinions and guidance: I’ve been wanting to get into coding so I can start to build my ideas.

I know there are so many great tools that have been developed (like Vercel and very powerful web frameworks that can help bring great design to life.

I’d like to start by learning how to fork off of GitHub. There’s a really cool chat app called HuggingChat that I’d like to start with and then be able to plug in API to inference in the cloud and setup a relay and storage system.

What do I need to learn in order to do this? Also, with the state of LLMs and CoPilots, what don’t I need to learn or shouldn’t waste time focusing on?

A few years back, I took and HTML and CSS classes on treehouse and a Python course on Udemy b/c at the time I thought I had to learn PyTorch to do cool neural network shit. So, I have a tiiiiinnnnyyyy bit of familiarity and also took Java and Objective C classes in grad school.

Who can help your friendly neighborhood designer learn how to start building?!?!

Learn python and FastAPI/SQLModel, as far as html / front end, learn web components. React Et Al is a fire fire

Lit Element by google is a less chaotic toolset for web apps

So, Python for server-side and web components for front-end? Do you have any tutorials or guides that you’d recommend? I feel like I just don’t know where to get started!

FastAPI is pretty quick to pickup, its syntax is very compact and simple. For front end, play with Shoelace.style components, no transpiling required

Working on creating a community of coders that aren't yet full devs. Just so we can all help each other out in our journey. It also intersects videos of adorable kittens, so I think its fitting. #smolstr, like #devstr, but smol 😂

The name of the community also intersects with videos of adorable kittens*

In terms of tangible learning resources, I've started with Svelte and used this tutorial series.
