Is anyone interested in a PhpBB forum?

I support EH's experimentation with Nostr, as decentralized platforms will become more and more important. Personally, I care a lot about the user experience. That's why I set up a PhpBB forum, because the interface is beautiful. What I believe can be done to counteract centralization is to encourage the use of RSS (so people can track whatever community they want in their own client) and create a web ring.

It's called Rabbit Hole and the focus is on free speech and informing people about conspiracies. I'm putting this out there as an option for others who prefer to still like traditional types of websites. Also, is anyone interested in managing the community with me and helping it grow? (I was in touch with a moderator about this on the Lemmy instance but I lost track since the switch to Nostr.)

Honestly the UI is pretty ugly if you ask me. I would prefer the golang old reddit style over the php front end. But I support you and everyone who wants to use it.

To each their own. I like both. One thing I like about Prosilver (the default PhpBB theme) is that it doesn't hijack the user's attention with big text. Most modern UIs do.

I used to love forums. The phpbb are ones are very ugly imo tho, but I'm used to good designs like from LSX or NBB.

The topics of your forum are not really for me, so I'm out.

But I absolutely agree on that forums should come back. The centralization of Reddit and stuff is so annoying, I just can't get warm with the Reddit crowd tbh.

Each niche their own forum would be best imo

And a client that supports the login for each forum so that you can aggregate all threads and then just post in them.
