Spent 8 hours each of the last two days on the road with my kid. Prioritizing having a fun interaction with her over my sanity, we spent a good chunk of it playing a five song playlist she likes to sing along to on repeat. The songs are kids stuff, beyblades tunes, shimmer and shine, very optimistic, sometimes quite intense. I learned it doesn’t matter what songs they are, at some point they get into your head and you begin to enjoy them.

Finally I did talk her into adding one new song of my choice between playlists. Her favorites included Yellow Submarine (which she added to her list 🙌) and a few by Queen including Bohemian Rhapsody and We Will Rock You, the rest she said were “terrible.”

We’re going to do this same trip again in a month, so I’m looking for recs on road trip tunes to sing along to.
