There was always a normal cycle when I was younger. First we would find what were always called "Pecker Heads" in my area. They look like...well...what the name implies. Then we would find the small gray morels, finally we would find the larger yellow morels last. This cycle has changed over the last 10 years or so. The quantity that we find has gone down as well. We believe this is due to the wild turkey population which has grown quite large in our area. #grownostr #mushrooms #morels
