How many sats could a modern phone mine within an hour or so?

Obviously not much, but is it at least > 3 sats?

If yes, this might be a good opportunity to have a "faucet" in any app, the mining pool could payout ecash, and the user gets started with at least some sats to start zapping.

it would he much easier to just purchase sats

That would always require additional user input...

When i see #introductions post and it wasn’t zapped, I zap, if it doesn’t work I make a comment explaining they have to set up a wallet. Sure when masses will start joining some solution should be in place but I think smth like Fountain App or ZBD/THNDR games are perfectly fine, users just need to be informed on onboarding that they can play/listen for sats.

Yeah, that's a nice solution, it feels extra special when the sats are earned from a post.

I think mining on the phone is bad ux and bad education.. will user understand that their phone doesn’t actually mine any blocks just points hashrate to the pool? Will user understand what hashrate is needed to find lets say a block a day on average and how negligible one phones hashrate is in comparison? How much battery will it drain? Will it automatically stop after a day/a week to stop draining the battery? What pool will this be ? If it only has hashrate of phones it will have tiny chance to ever find a block aka what pocket will the sats come ? Or should a serious profitable pool should allow phone miners to join as a charity even though it will not increase the pools profitability? (Probably millions of such phones should join to meaningfully increase the chance of finding a block, right ?)

how many with mine?

My 120 TH ASIC is mining around 400 sats per hour currently. A mobile phone would mine 0 sats per hour and probably even 0 per week, while being constantly overheated, throttled and totally unusable for anything else I'm afraid 🫤

Maybe even mine a shitcoin and instantly dump it for ecash sats?

Phones today’s power can mine only randomx coins. I tried using an Android for XMR and it was like 0.00002000 per day. Around 4 to 5 sats. It’s only worth if you use a spare phone and not your main one.

Is there a monero mining pool that pays out in bitcoin ecash?

No that I know. But you can mine it with any electronic device. If you are interested (to get some sats that way) I would recommend you to use/leave old phones and PC for mining 24/7. Even your main for a few hours a day. Save all in one (monero) wallet and then swap it for lightning (in some DEX you can find that option)

Mine on a phone? Literally zero sats. You would have a better chance at showing advertising and converting those ad payments into BTC.

Why would anyone want to make their phone as hot as hell and kill the battery for 3 sats?

I love the thinking, Max! From replies, disappointed it doesn't seem viable. Especially love ideas that incentivize regular users to help with bitcoin's mining decentralization!
