The key is to have zero expectations of others. Trust is built, reputation is earned. What we give away for free will eventually bit us in the ass.
Is it possible to have negative expectations
It is, but that's a living hell imo. I treat all the new users as they have the intellect of a 7yo, regardless of their actual age. I prefer to be joyfully surprised from time to time.
