One thing we will have soon is badges that you can give to people and they can put them on their profile. This will kind of be a nostr "nft" but its not transferable and is bound to your profile.

Badges was a big part of my software product also for profile view. It was an effective driver if engagement when designed around meaningful events and milestones - some were defined globally by the platform and others were defined locally by sub-communities.
my use case was: instead of those lame ๐บ๐ฆ flags in your profile name to show support, you could have actual badges that you buy that shows support and helps fund the cause you find important.
Also achievements, etc. any user can make these badges so they would need nip05 indicators on them (minted by #[13] , etc)

That first use case is great - eliminating virtue signalling would be another feather in the Nostr cap.

I've always wanted there to be a cross-platform flag-like emoticon standard to include many causes so I can show I'm an AnCap (yellow-black flag) and a cypherpunk while the woke can show their LGBTQ flags and so on.
The risk here is reinforcing tribalism. The icon can pre-influence if you read that persons post and how you read the post.
When zaps on public release?
