Muslims are discussing on X for the hundredth time that X is terrible and they need a new platform, but they just can't make the leap here.

It's quite simple:

1. Come here. Be one of the pioneers.

2. Start posting your stuff.

3. Wait until you are found by like-minded people.

4. Gather them around you. Give and take.

It's that simple. You don't need thousands of followers. Half of them are inactive anyway or don't even see your stuff. A quarter are bots, propaganda agencies, and "follow me back" algorithm bootlickers ... you’re always dealing with the same 12-14 people anyway. So what's with this obsession with numbers?

The same argument can be made for so many groups. A lot of people just don’t take risks in trying new things.

I’ve had similar thoughts about political groups. There was a huge influx to the Fediverse from left wing politics when Musk took over Twitter but many stayed because reasons. I don’t get it to be honest, be the change you want to see in the world. Why generate revenue for people you dislike? Baffling.

Most folks don’t take the mechanics of the internet seriously.

People move when their leadership does and pushes it. But many of us (notice I didn’t say all) are here before leadership as we are not to be controlled.

Not everyone is cut out to be a pioneer. And the obsession with numbers is inherent to modernity where the measure of a man is the ultimate goal. X folk will be very happy to accept the social credit system being prepared for them.
