Damn. Really puts a fine point on what we are up against

How many more people have to suffer and die, before the world realises that the centralised power over complex dynamic living systems cannot work?

study Hyperion and the character Meina Gladstone therein

better than mandibles because it contemplates the role of AI and technology in removing the autodetermination function of man and life, and how the only way to assure the survival of man and organic life free of technological slavery is to restore that function

plus sci fi is awesome

I’ve heard this book recommended so many times that it’s a crime that I haven’t read it yet.

Will be next on my list now.

You should read it for 2 reasons:

- It is extremely fun to read. You read it as a novel, although it is based on facts that are available or a conclusion on evidence that points to said conclusion.

- Although it was written prior to the dot.com bubble, it forecasts every move taken on the recurrent crisis that we have witnessed in the last 25y.

A bonus advantage is that you will thank that we now have Bitcoin to help us shield from the rotten strings that make us all puppets and slaves from the system.

Crazy that these psychopaths actually think they are doing a good thing trying to impose their worldview on people regardless of those people's cultures, concerns or consent. I sincerely hope that they all go broke, if only for a short period of time so they are forced to reconcile their insulated worldview with reality.

I haven't checked yet but this cannot be real?
