If I had used Bisq, I would have had to pay a % extra. But instead, I bought at market price.

What's more, since the Bisq community treated Monero the way it did (in 2019), I haven't used Bisq since. I have plenty of other tools to buy/sell XMR (or any other crypto).

What happened in 2019?

I didn’t know bisq had been around for that long…

But it got integrated in the end?

No.

Instead, the Monero community forked Bisq, removed the BSQ token, and we ended up with:

1) https://haveno.exchange/

2) https://retoswap.com/

😌

Yeah I know about these…

I’m not sure I understand why bisq hasn’t integrated xmr but yet it’s paired for trade?

Monero is available on Bisq as one of the payment options, alongside Wise, Revolut, and other banks and payment methods.

However, it is _not_ natively integrated as it is in Haveno/Retoswap.

Although most of the liquidity on Bisq over the years has been on the XMR/BTC pair, their "DAO" did not vote for the integration of Monero...

Probably they didn't want to create competition for Bitcoin, because people would start trading, for example, XMR/Revolut or XMR/Wise instead of pairing it with BTC.

Anyway, whatever. I haven't used Bisq since 2019. It's no longer needed in my toolkit.

Thank you I appreciate the thorough response

They believe a less private, less liquid DEX means they are winning somehow?? Because maximalism... They also made Monero the lowest priority for Bisq 2 despite Monero doing 80% of all trade volume for basically forever.

RetoSwap has achieved higher volume than Bisq after only 1 year vs 10 years of existence.

Use Reto.
