I think it's because men can better tell when they're being scammed. The cost is too high, and the upside to low. No one cares about degrees anymore, so lifelong debt is a really bad move.

Jermiah brought up a good point, there are more men at the extremes of iq, whereas there are more women in the middle of intelligence. Women are more socially conditioned too. The low iq men know there are bad test takers and it’s a waste of time and money, but the midwit females can still pass their useless majors and the world will celebrate it

And most of the world still cares about degrees, just not on the internet. It’s still a gatekeeping tool

On the note of social conditioning: that's what I mean by women being more susceptible to being scammed: they are less likely to see through the social engineering and think for themselves about whether college is profitable, and they will follow the herd believing the lie that happiness is on the other side of an "education."
