I was just refering to the danger of relying on the proper phase detection of those thingies. Depending on the situation it happens to give you false negatives...

Your coffee machine is obviously safe to touch on the brewing group if the machine is disconnected from mains

I appreciate the tip - I won't use that screwdriver for any electrics. I've seen photos of what microwave oven transformers can do when hobbyists get electrocuted - well, photos of the ones that survived anyway.
