they have nothing to do with emails. they are a better way to memorize and share your account identifier.

Wait .. why not twitter style @ .. does anyone ever remembers someone email id ???? 😭😭

basically we can't support them in nostr properly. we need to find a pointer from @name address to a pubkey, where should we search for pubkey based on name part? there is no centralized server! so we have to attach the server address to it as well. then it would be like: name@server.

about remembering, why not? someone using unique domains of themselves so its easy to remember or share. and someone are using famous providers, so you need to remember to name part only.

also we don't memorise x @ ids as well.

could do it like I described in this article nostr:naddr1qqrxuethg389xq3qwamvxt2tr50ghu4fdw47ksadnt0p277nv0vfhplmv0n0z3243zyqxpqqqp65w7fdn8s

what is estate ?

Everything passed down from one generation to the next, inheritance. Big money area for lawyers too

I guess we moved away from the point here ..

I have no special love for @twitter style ids or email style ids .. all I am saying is if I can send money to an email style lightning address from any wallet that implements lightning, why can't I send a message to an email style nostr address from any email client that implements support for nostr .. in fact nostr email style id should be able to receive both money as well as messages ! otherwise it has pretty much zero value ! I mean NIP-05 is a distraction for new users .. unless it does something useful besides providing an email style address that doesn't receive email 😔

got it. as i said on another event, if you own the domain or use a service which supports all of them, you can use same address to receive email, sats and let others to find you on nostr with this.

we are developing a nip-05 server which let you forward your lighting address to it as well. maybe we worked on it to support email address as well. i need to think about it deeply.
