If I did run my own node, I suppose I'd have to run a full bitcoin node, needing about 1TB VPS. I'd also have to open a channel, with say nostr:nprofile1qqs0h7ec2h2scduxdtcqfp9xgangpts79lcye6uamzfkge0hp5u32zcpp4mhxue69uhhjctzw5hx6egpp4mhxue69uhkummn9ekx7mqpz3mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuerpd46hxtnfdu46puj5. And I'd get a lightning address and wallet from nostr:nprofile1qqsrf5h4ya83jk8u6t9jgc76h6kalz3plp9vusjpm2ygqgalqhxgp9gpz4mhxue69uhk2er9dchxummnw3ezumrpdejqzyrhwden5te0dehhxarj9ekxzmnyqyt8wumn8ghj7un9d3shjtnwdaehgu3wvfskueq555fk2

Is this the config?

Lightning address now requires a channel with us - it’s now zero fee otherwise though

Opening a channel is zero fee?

You can open an outbound channel to us but you need to push balance across it to receive payments to the lightning address.

Best to purchase a channel from the LSP.

You can use my Bitcoin Core node to reduce costs

Will I still need to run a lightning node?

Yes but that is really nothing

Okay

Would 40GB VPS be enough?

that is too much....My lightning disk usage is....4.5GB and that includes Lnbits, litd, lnd, and the source code to build it

That's the lowest VPS GoDaddy offers
