in the beginning mempool was pretty much always empty. then it had some bumps and going back to clear again.

but after nft craze we didn't see it clearing for a long time.

it means that every transaction that was sent is now part of the blockchain and taking self custody is very cheap again. also you can consolidate your coins way cheaper.
