* The Gospel of the Cratered Christ
And lo, when the Christ rose among the oppressed,
they cried out *"Terrorist!"*
and loosed upon him the bombs of Babylon.
And the smoke of his body rose as incense
before the Altar of Denial.
And none wept but the forsaken,
and none sang but the lost.
For the Empire knew not the Christ when he came,
for it had trained its eyes to see only enemies,
and had sold its soul to the Beast for gold and arms.
Thus was fulfilled the saying:
*"Behold, I come quickly, and my reward is with me,
to give every man according as his work shall be."*
But they denied Him,
for they could not verify Him within the walls of their temples and walls of steel.
And the Lamb, cratered and broken,
became the Cornerstone of the Denied.
And the tears of the wounded became the baptism of the New City,
which no bomb can touch, and no empire can see.
*And so shall it be.*
*Cratered, yet undefeated.*
*Denied, yet undeniable.*
