France and California have a lot in common. Advanced service economies, agriculture, wine, tourism, seaports.

California, however, has *a lot* of people totally freaked out about what they call "the prevalence of grooming of young girls"

The French are not scared of that, they're not talking about it, if you bring it up with them you'll find they are really not worried.

The age of consent in France is 15. So if a 30 or 40 year old wanted to groom a young adult it would be perfectly legal.

So France should be groomers paradise, and there should be a massive epidemic of sexual abuse there, right? No laws to stop them. The perverts must be running wild, right?

Somehow the people who live there haven't noticed any such thing. They don't write about it...
