I live near the city this takes place in. At the time my town was near an airbase (now a civilian airport) used to train RAF navigators.

I first watched this in my early teens. One of those nukes at the beginning would have been on that airbase.

If it was a ground burst my house would have been in the crater.

This film still haunts me.

Since I can't seem to load the OP I'm going to assume you are talking about that old nuke film threads, I watched that next door when I was just a kid .

Parents weren't impressed when they found out. 🀣

Yeah, it's pretty accurate.

In a horrific way 😱

Yeah, unfortunately you don't have alot of space on that old island away from targets... In reality though it would be nowhere near as dire away from the blast radius & fallout zones.

Like I keep saying, it's the nuke plants & storage pools that'll do the real damage in the aftermath when they lose power...

The pools definitely. The plants "in theroy" should scram and drop their graphite rods if anything major should happen apocalypse wise.

But there's always a margin of error for these things ☺️😁

And is based on one that hasn't been damaged.

If it were me slinging nukes, I'd also have a sub with conventional stuff targetting them...
