I think I'm gonne send Ledger a "thank you" email.

After one of their servers got hacked, years ago, I received so much spam and scamming attempts my default mode is "this is a scam".

I even dismissed some legit mails due to this attitude, but still better than the other way !

Everyone should be prepared for attempts.

Most are still easy, like your sample.

But soon you will get a phone call with the voice of a relative, factually being AI, crying for some (financial of course/most likely) help.

What question will you ask that the AI can't answer but a real relative can ?

Don't think of birthdays or other too easy things but any made up, but agreed upon, question/answer or recent event (what did you eat last time we went out for dinner ?) can be a good and easy check.

Also replying with the remark you will send funds to the agreed upon LN adres could be an interesting check (even better if it was indeed in place 😇) ?

Wild times ahead !

Wild times indeed! I saw a while back a few videos about the relatives' AI voices - spooky. With my brother we agreed on a few things already (in case one of us does pick up the phone to an unknown number tbf 😂) hoping it doesn't happen to us but aware and annoyed at how many vulnerable elderlies are being scammed in uncountable ways!
