every so often i get the urge to try using AI code generation but on a daily basis with the ML statistical based autocomplete on intellij it is CONSTANTLY not recognising the context when for example i've written a statement that produces a variable of some type and i try to get it to write me a var declaration it doesn't know what type it should be even though the symbol appears already in context with a given function at a given position in the return tuple

and don't get me started on the problems with interfaces, AI and ML systems cannot comprehend one level of depth of logic, AS IF you can write software with it that isn't just a remix of someone else's code. because it can't, it's not AI, it's a fucking lossy text compression encoding
