Censorship resistant information distribution

Attestations of information (all messages are signed and you can trace the pubkey and NIP05 identifier for a sense of validity) is more approachable than PGPKeys.

Examples of that are Mike Dilger attesting to the SHA256 hash of a past Gossip release.

Another example could be content creators certifying conveyance of ownership of licensing of content.

What's the state of search? I remember when I was a kid like 20 years ago I could find all kinds of conspiracy theories honestly argued by their proponents in the Google search results. Not any more. Could we bring that back pls? 🤝

This is one of the reasons I want to allocate time at some point to setup a relay to capture posts for indexing. Sure there's plenty noise, but the textual content can provide signal.

Locally I want to retain my data and relationships and be able to search past messages. It would be useful for CRM tool integrations for example, seeing the reach of what your customers interact with for possible future customers.

In a prior life I worked on systems that scraped news sources and articles to try to detect social and health anomalies to predict where other downstream events would occur or alert for thresholds. Every data source like nostr can provide a wealth of information.

Ooo interesting.

Re. Text... I think people are going to need to accept that text is king as far as Nostr is concerned. Video is nice and we can utilize it when times are good but it doesn't work for the use case when the rubber really meets the road.
