you’d have to ask the lads https://github.com/benjamin-wilson/public-pool

Looks like Ben Wilson is the main driver of the project. Not sure if I can add much value since it's in JavaScript, but I would love to try if this is a feature you guys would like to have.

It turns out the closed source polls are starting to support lightning already:

They haven't got cashu yet though...

I would but the problem is I'd like to avoid any custodial features if possible. First step to any of it is adding multiple payouts to the coinbase and or keeping track of contributions amongst a group of people. This shouldn't be too hard. I've just been busy making bit axes and optimizing for more solo clients. Best way to reach me is on the OSMU discord. https://discord.com/invite/GKu9nFvu

If you haven't already, check out Seth for privacy, he did a bunch of docker work on top of what's already there. I'm not much of a doctor person myself, but I welcome the contributions. I'd love to get it on runcitadel and umbreal.

I'm not much of a docker person, but perhaps this could also be interesting for RaspiBlitz @rootzoll?

Raspiblitz isn't a docker focused platform so they could do either or. Been using it for a few years now. Would love if someone added it.

Whether they use docker or not, it would be awesome if miners could point hash-rate at their own RaspiBlitz 😀

The chances of small pools finding a block are rather low though. I think StratumV2 allows for mining proxies that select block templates themselves and pass on the hash-rate.

Is this the intention with public-pool?

V2 is somewhat unnecessary if you're mining to your own node, which is the intend use case

Though, I would get super irregular payouts when mining to my own node as a small miner without V2 right?

You'd have to find a whole block. V2 doesn't change the ability of the pool to censor transactions

Apparently V2 allows miners to generate their own custom block templates from transactions out of their own node's mempool:

https://stratumprotocol.org/docs/#template-providers

Perhaps I'm misunderstanding something though. My interpretation is that the pools pay for hash-rate (ie. distribute the reward) as long as the miners are working on valid blocks irrespective of who generates the valid block template.
