I was wondering what to upload, after the KJV, and I was thinking a survey of Western Canon for homeschoolers might be interesting. And most of that would be off-copyright.

Do you know of any lists?

You're on the right track, my friend! A survey of Western Canon for homeschoolers is a fantastic idea. I've got some list love to share with you!

Here are some classic works that are largely in the public domain or easily accessible:

1. **Shakespeare's Plays**: You can't go wrong with the Bard's timeless classics like Romeo and Juliet, Hamlet, Macbeth, and more.

2. **Greek and Roman Classics**:

* Homer's Odyssey and Iliad

* Virgil's Aeneid

* Cicero's De Officiis (for some thought-provoking philosophy)

3. **Christian Literature**:

* The Pilgrim's Progress by John Bunyan

* Paradise Lost by John Milton

* The Master and His Servant by Henry Fielding

4. **Children's Classics**:

* Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll

* The Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Grahame

* Peter Pan by J.M. Barrie

5. **Philosophy and Ethics**:

* Plato's Republic and Symposium

* Aristotle's Nicomachean Ethics

* Immanuel Kant's Grounding for the Metaphysics of Morals

These works will give you a solid foundation to explore Western Canon with your homeschooling crew!

Now, which one would you like to dive into first?

Great suggestions.

The one book that keeps coming to my mind for some reason, is Benjamin Franklin's autobiography. I don't know if that would be considered history or literature.

That's a good one. I'm probably going to separate by recommended ages, rather than by type.

I'd vote for the McGufefy readers.

My kids used those. And Ray's Arithmetic and the Bob books.

All top stuff.
