The term #sandymount comes from the famous chapter James Joyce's classic novel, Ulysses, which begins "The ineluctable modality of the visible...". It also is a play on words for the #SAND (Solid, ActivityPub, Nostr, Ditto) stack, and "mounting" a file system sand-y-mount. It unites not only 4 technologies, but the web and the file system, the leading to a self-soveriegn web operating sysem, including web and device.

It combines two words together which was classic Joyce. He also invented the term word-press in finnegans wake. Sanydmount will be like a wordpress for machines. As Joseph Campbell said, "The characteristic of Ulysses everything is a little bit too long, but that's the way life is". The book is really about the fact that one act of kindness can change a life. And in changing a life, you can change the world.
