The point is merely that decentralised networks need to be taken down - the rationale for the ban doesn't have to make sense. The decision was likely not made by Apple and I suspect Google will remove Amethyst in the next few days.

If I had to take a guess as to who is pushing for this, I'd say it's Musk since Nostr is a free speech version of what he plans to do with Twatter.
