I get the mesh thing but it seems redundant if you need to light a bonfire every hundred yards to send a message. What happens when you live in Malta?

But that is the only time it would be useful. Or at a music/sports event. Even then you tend to be with the people you want to talk to. BLE has an even shorter range. Am I missing something? Nice idea but a bit like Da Vinci's helicopter, waiting for technology to advance
