It’s amusing how fake some people can be—one way online and completely different in person.
The truth is, your true colors will always show. You can’t hide a rotten core behind a polished facade forever.

Right?
Some people are definitely fake but there is an alternative perspective.
Humans are relational. We learn and grow in relational contexts. Our identities develop in relation to others. Our values are heavily influenced by culture, experiences, and social connections. It makes sense that people would behave differently online because it’s a different environment. I’m sure you have certain friends that you are very deep with and other friends that you are playful and silly with. Then there are probably people in your life that annoy you. But those people that annoy you might be playful and silly in someone else’s life. That playful and silly person in your life might be a deep and serious person in someone else’s life. People tend to adapt and fill necessary roles based on the needs of the relationship they are interacting in. For example, my friend is a heavy drinker. His girlfriend would take care of him when he got shitfaced. After he broke up with her, he got a new girlfriend who also likes to drink heavily. After a few nights together, he realized that they’re going to get into trouble if one of them doesn’t be the responsible one. So now he is the one who is taking care of her and doing what his ex used to do for him. People will react to you by filling the roles that are needed. Consider what role you are playing and what role these other people are playing in response to you. Or just tell them GFY 😂
