Erdogan never fully willed to remove bashar, not until he made the case good for his superior allies USA and co /he is pragmatic like that. Since Bashar was a good enough asset for Israel and USA and sometimes whoever paid until he became too much trouble. Now living in Russia the natural deep ally of Israel since there are many Russian jews in Israel and a deep historical connection outside of the BS about Russia being against Israel with weak diplomatic condemnations here and there to appease its obedient(through hypocrite scholars and leaders) Muslim population.

Also that it was a shitshow that everybody wanted a piece of so it made it way more complicated even though could've been ended in the start of the sad usurped revolution with a direct cutting off the Syrian regime and supporting the sane(wherever they went) resistance factions and stomped on the shitty backstabbing of isis and similar. A lot of the reasons of its failure happened because of the faction leaders not wanting to retaliate against isis backdooring their conquered towns from bashar and murdering everyone because they were their "Muslim brothers" WTH!!. Shitty sectarianism got the population fucked up in its mind and their hopes. All of it is by ignoring the Qur'an completely where God gave us clear instructions to war and allegiance and alliance making and retaliation, etc and how to win you'll see a lot of the mistakes in the messy details of Syrian revolution especially from the beginning before everything got fucky, clearly and you can compare with the Qur'an (allegiance with aggressor kuffar, not countering the aggressor parties and stopping them, sectarianism and collective oppression or suspicion wanting to collectively punish, etc)
