My node has a habbit of going offline when I go away for a bitcoin conference.
It runs for months with no issues but as soon as I can't easily get to it...

Mine did exactly that for my last BTC conf, and I'm ready to bet that the outage rate of this little fucker is higher when I'm not at home than when I'm there.
I was going to go in to the bios & set it to boot automatically after a power failure but i didn't want to take it offline.
Serves me right 🤦

It just wants to be close to love.
So my Umbrel node went offline due to a failure in my router. I didn't know this & tried to hard reboot the headless node in a lazy effort to resolve it.
Please avoid hard rebooting your node. It took me over 24hrs to get bitcoin core working & then my lightning channels back up (once I restored the Internet connection). Both suffered from corrupted indexes that needed to be rebuilt.
Total downtime of 6 days & I'm grateful that more nodes didn't close their channels with me.
