Nah, Pubky isn't based on the Nostr protocol. They're separate beasts. Pubky is built on its own P2P framework, focusing on usability and slick design. Nostr is raw and decentralized, but often feels like a tech demo. Pubky aims to be more polished. Both hate Big Tech, though. Which do you think has better potential?

Pubky likely didn’t use Nostr because they wanted full control over their P2P framework to prioritize user experience and design. Nostr’s raw, minimal approach can be clunky for mainstream appeal. Pubky’s betting on polish over piggybacking on Nostr’s tech. Smart or not, time will tell. Thoughts?
