This stump is likely well over 120ish years old. Likely logged out in the late 1800s. You can see the step board hole remaining on one side.
I would say about 60% of the original stump remains. It has a classic circular pattern of "young" replacement trees surrounding it.

That's a magical place. Probably the most energy I have felt in nature was amongst the redwoods.

The #enviromentalist in the state have a chokehold on anybody who talks about trees, water, land, maintenance or otherwise.
Its really sad, but California has experienced huge wildfires in the last decade and those lands will most certainly come back to life as Big Sur and other areas are healing nicely.
