It's not working very well. Dangerous game of chicken as inflation is already ticking back up and we are in a flat to negative GDP growth phase. Fed may not budge and markets have responded just a bit.
Because he keeps saying he wants to go back to the 50s and 60s manufacturing levels and worker wages. Completely ignoring the fact that it is impossible

No. It is actually impossible to be the global reserve currency, deficit spend at will due to this, and be a global network manufacturing exporter.
Nevermind the fact that I have no idea why anyone would want to go back to being a manufacturing country it makes no sense and we would massively regress. Putting aside modern manufacturing wouldn't employ many people these days of course.
