I dislike them because I want 1 central package manager to track and manage all of my software update needs. If I wanted to have to update each application 1 by 1 I could run Windows.

I still have some on my machine. I just hate them for being too lazy to get added to apt. Always on the lookout for an alternative I can manage through apt.
