Personally. I think nostr is the perfect network to reach the people you want to.

If decentralization is your bag, and social is your media, then nostr is the obvious choice.

Because there is NO OTHER social platform that offers “self ownership” of EVERY aspect of digital lifestyle (content, profiles, follows, payments, ect…) everybody YOU want to talk to, either is or WILL BE on nostr.

The question of “whose here now?” is only for conversation joiners. YOU my friend, are a conversation STARTER.

Either YOU bring people to nostr or they will come on their own, but nostr IS where people will come who want NOT to be owned.

On alternatives they discuss bitcoin sometimes AND building parallel communities online and offline (they are finishing building offline communities and I’m interested in participating,) acceleration (I’m also a techno optimist with a strong e/acc crossover,) decentralization of media and education, they also post art etc. The only topic they don’t discuss frequently is human rights but I believe that it’s implied. I’d still like to see more. I like seeing those building in all of those areas discussing those topics.

On nostr I get bitcoin and a sprinkle of lifestyle and art. Devs post updates and some shitposting. I like it here too. It’s simply not as robust in conversation at this time.

At the end of the day, it doesn’t particularly matter what I want to see or talk about and I believe that on nostr folks should post whatever they like. If bitcoin is the topic it’s none of my business. I can talk about what I want to talk about personally anywhere. I’ll build whatever I land permanently. I’m extremely passionate about serving in this space. I’m big on planting in spaces where I can be of maximum service.

I’m not convinced at this time that bitcoiners (specifically individuals where bitcoin or related projects, is the only solution) are my tribe. It’s no biggie it’s just not the best match. This isn’t a knee jerk reaction, I’ve been feeling this way for a few months. I gave it time. It doesn’t mean that nostr won’t continue to grow and be exactly what I’m looking for in a few years. I hope and literally I pray that nostr will be a success.

Nostr can be a success with or without me. If I stay here it doesn’t matter either way. I’ll be on service no matter where I land. It’s all love. I’m just ready to land. 💜
