Probably because you don't have enough fiat to hedge the pain of volatility.

If you had 24 months of your cost of living in fiat/strc, would it be as hard as it is ?

He's been hodling for 11 years. You don't di this before 10-15 years of hodling. 2 years of cost of living is likely a very small percentage of his stack.
