Underberg is an old German digestif sold in little paper-wrapped 60ml bottles (about half a shot) that's kinda cult-y at cocktail bars everywhere. It's explicitly meant to be drank after a meal and it's great to do so. But, it's also commonly taken all at once as a shot, and even more specifically as a hangover

reliever. It's super herbal; the only ingredients are water, alcohol and herbs from 43 countries. It's somewhere between Angostura and Meletti. Gentian cloves, anise, etc all present. Interestingly it's 44% alcohol, but like Ango it's considered by the FDA to be a food item not alcohol.

🍻 Cheers

It is often compared to the also German Jaegermeister and the Hungarian Unicum, but Underberg has a much more aniseed taste. But you can get terribly drunk from all of them😁
