Finally tried nostr-relay-tray and it lives up to the promise, right out of the box. Great job nostr:nprofile1qyv8wumn8ghj7emjda6hquewxpuxx6rpwshxxmmd9uq3xamnwvaz7tm0venxx6rpd9hzuur4vghszrnhwden5te0dehhxtnvdakz7qgjwaehxw309ahx7um5wgerztnrdakj7qgnwaehxw309amk7apww468smewdahx2tcqyzqjtwg3a58ffklrqz9qheyvlewdps9sty3ullu30tn7sldggqygxrpk9s6

What's this? Another tool I hadn't heard of before?
A very clean local (desktop) relay
And easy install with a .deb? :puppyeyes_sm:
Yeah, I think so (I'm on mac so I had to compile it myself)
It twas a rhetorical question. I had already peeked at the releases page. Installing now.
Wow... That was stupid easy to set up!
Oh: wot.brightbolt.net by the way.
Redirected to jumble? Others won't be able to access your local relay through this link. If you want to make your local relay public, you can use a reverse proxy service like ngrok. 🤗
My other npubs have been able to post to and read from it just fine using wss://wot.brightbolt.net. Not sure why it is rerouting to Jumble. It does the same thing when I type the local IP:Port into my web browser.
Oh, it's the redirection done by nostr-relay-tray to make it easier to browse events in the relay 🤣 But it seems there're some issues. It should be like this: https://jumble.social/?r=wot.brightbolt.net
Interesting... Wonder why it's not going there. Have anything to do with using Nginx as my reverse proxy, or maybe how I have that set up?
Because nostr-relay-tray is hardcoded to redirect to https://jumble.social/?r=ws://localhost:4869 🤣 It's not your problem!
Another question for you. Will the relay automatically purge notes previously posted from an npub I have now added to a blacklist, or will I need to delete them manually? If the latter, is there somewhere I am missing for being able to find and delete notes I want to purge?
The delete function is still under development. I haven’t found a good UX, so it has been delayed for a long time. 😭
No worries! The relay is great, and so dang simple to get stood up!
For some reason, I can't zap you and I am really wanting to. Need more tools like this that less technical folks can just run.
Your positive feedback has really motivated me to keep developing! Thanks for your input, these features will be included in the next version.
Thanks! Glad it worked well for you. Looking forward to your feedback!

I feel kinda dumb, I have it running but I'm not sure what to with it exactly. Is there meant to be a relay address or something that I link to my Nostr client? Do I need to configure stuff? Any help appreciated.
You can click the icon in the system tray to check it. Typically, the address is: ws://
