Every time I try to test a web client it drives me absolutely wild. The browser is a terrible place.

Try out Primal, it's the best one.

Primal is smooth, but I’m talking about REAL nostr clients that actually use client side web sockets. Central databases of course greatly improve performance, but they are cheating.

Apps on iOS that aren’t Damus are pretty much trash also.

Mostly true today, but the future is bright I think (hope).

Did you try Plebstr ?

Yes, and until they support linked notes, user tagging, and fix their broken autocorrect, it’s unusable.

I understand your point of view. Since you are already used to Damus, you are looking for a client with a polished experience. Plebtsr have a good UI/UX and is evolving rapidly too, I think they will catch up soon especially since the team is now working full time on Plebstr.

Me too, I think they will continue to build a quality app. Let em cook

Most iOS apps didn’t exist 3/4 months ago, at least publicly. Damus is around a year old (by memory) and now has lots of community pull requests with improvements.

Competition will come.

Exactly. To be fair, plebstr just ported over tweetoshi that I think they’ve had for at least the much time, but obviously there’s lots of nostr specific things to sort out.

I’m sure they’ll get there eventually, it’s just missing some pretty important features that should have been working when launched.

Things can get frustrating all right my friend don't let them ruin you're day.

Did you try coracle.social ?

I have! And I’m a big fan of #[3] as he had one of the first NIP-42 implementations. The only thing I don’t totally understand (and happening to me on Iris too) is why it’s always trying to connect to relays that aren’t on my list.

I don’t know if it’s gossip related but it drives me insane. My relay strategy is intentional and I don’t want to connect to others.

Had some issues with the relays also in the beginning, but since I saved my relays here : https://metadata-contacts-relays.pages.dev/

coracle.social is fetching them correctly and only connecting to them

Ok, I’ll give that a try. Seems like the issue I was experiencing on Iris is an actual bug.

I noticed that coracle cannot set read/write relay so it only fetch kind 65 but don’t publish so other client can know where to read/write? It’s a bit weird

It happens with all web clients lately, I am afraid to think that they will stop improving due to lack of funding or lack of support from the community.

I hope not! We need to support web clients since they are easiest to access. I think both Snort and Iris are still very popular today.

I totally agree and they have made a lot of progress since AstralNinja and others.

I use both and they are great.

Have you tried Satellite? https://satellite.earth/

I haven’t but I’ll check it out right now!

Hey - cool client, really enjoy the thread layout. The design is smooth too. I wanted to remove the default relays, but I see that’s coming soon. I’ll be following this!
