Excited to start contributing to the security on #Bitcoin by running my own node. Will be using this to help with digital sovereignty and hygiene by keeping my password manager off someone elseโ€™s server. What are some cool things you do with yours. #grownostr people included.

You're going to run a node and password manager server? Lightning too?

I would love to do a lightning node too! Eventually I will. Just donโ€™t want to jump into too much too quick. Are you running one?

Not yet. Was wondering if what you got was good to start that project. I hear Raspberry Pi often and some say an old computer but others say it's not energy efficient... so lots to consider it seems.

I have two old mini pcs (5th Gen intel) I'm setting up for a light server for home and a pfsense firewall/router. The power supplies are only 45 watts.

Following (with curiousity)...

I bought one in Jan and have a btc and lightning and nostr node/relay up. They make it pretty darn easy

Yeah Iโ€™m going through figuring it all out and it still taking me a bit with very little prior knowledge on how this stuff works. The layout makes it all much easier. Loving it so far.

Also check out Syncthing to be your own cloud backup for computers and phones.

How much more do you think I can do with that space wise? Do you know if I am able to plug in more hard drives into the start9?

Don't plug in multiple HDs into the Embassy One because the Pi cannot handle more than one ssd usb connection. I think I recall reading on EmbassyOS dashboard under backup that there's a high probability of the data on both drives getting corrupted if you do so.

Noted. Glad I asked. Haha
