When you stop being curious or too afraid to break things in order to figure them out, you've died. And it's hard to see our friends and connections effectively die to the world and we're still always forward moving. Calling it out only gets you resentment because it's not about truth to them (and they know it), it's about you pointing out their pain, you being the bad person for taking away the morphine.
