On Brian Roemmele’s Twitter profile it says: “We can only see what we think is possible...”

If you think a lot more things are possible than the average person, then you’ll be inclined to look harder for those things, and then you’ll probably find them, even though everyone else thinks it’s impossible!

I have heard Jeff Booth say something similar.

Your perception of the world shapes you you interact with it, and thus the world itself

I think that’s a good way of describing what Art actually is: it’s a way to make that person’s perception of the world “digestible” or understandable to you, such that you don’t look at the world the same way ever again after experiencing it on a deep level.

Whereas bad or mediocre art doesn’t give you new perceptions or a new personality, it’s just more of the same, and boring.

Great connection ... artists have a way of showing others the truth that we all know but cannot articulate
