I disagree. I believe that using a term like MAP is far more negative, since it implies and inability to engage with people in a more direct and transparent way, without having to rely on semantic tricks.

I absolutely do not prefer MAP. Please refer to me as a pedophile. Every single stupid semantic trick and every single disruption to communication about pedophilia from either end does everyone a disservice. Pedophiles more than anyone need to avoid calling themselves by special names or trying to associate themselves with vacuous movements like the LGBT.
