I shared this video (Charlie Kirk) because I believe we have a responsibility to witness truth, even when it’s uncomfortable. In our sanitized media environment, we’re often shielded from the real consequences of violence and conflict, which can lead to abstract discussions disconnected from human reality.
When we only engage with cleaned up versions of events, we risk making decisions - political, social, and personal without fully understanding their weight. This footage shows what violence actually looks like, what it actually costs in human terms. I believe people deserve to make informed judgments based on complete information, not just what’s deemed palatable.
I don’t share this lightly or for shock value. I wrestled with this decision, knowing it could cause distress. But I believe that bearing witness to difficult truths, when done with proper context and warning, serves our collective moral development. It honors the reality of what happened and prevents us from turning away from consequences we might otherwise ignore.
I’ve included appropriate warnings so people can choose whether to engage. My hope is that seeing these real consequences might deepen our commitment to preventing such outcomes in the future and that we can flourish as humans that can agree to disagree with civility.
